Why Do I Need A Crown?
There are many reasons a dental crown may be your treatment of choice. At Grove Avenue Family and Cosmetic Dentistry, our dentist will partner with you to determine the most effective and aesthetically pleasing option to restore your tooth. Some of the reasons you may need a crown include:
- Repairing a broken tooth.
- Covering and protecting a tooth that has been weakened, usually due to decay
- Strengthening a tooth that has had a root canal.
- Anchoring a dental bridge in place to restore bite function.
- Restoring misshaped or severely discolored teeth.

How does it work?
Fitting a crown requires at least two visits to our office. Initially, we will remove decay, shape the tooth, and fit it with a temporary crown of either plastic or metal.
On the subsequent visit we will remove the temporary crown, and then fit and adjust the final crown. Finally, we will cement the crown into place and you have a new beautiful looking tooth.
